From purchase to dispatch

Order & Logistics

The work between sourcing and shipment matters. We organise incoming goods, consolidate where appropriate and prepare each order for a practical handover.

An organised order after the purchase

International orders often involve several deliveries, different pack sizes and timing dependencies. Delftrain keeps these moving parts connected by matching incoming goods to the approved order and preparing them for the next stage.

Receiving and order matching

Incoming cartons are grouped and checked at order level against available supplier information. Any visible discrepancy that affects the agreed order can then be raised before dispatch preparation continues.

Consolidation and staging

When goods arrive from multiple sources, they may be consolidated into a coordinated shipment. Cartons are organised by order, prepared for transport and staged for collection. The method depends on product characteristics, volume and the agreed shipping route.

Selecting a delivery route

Delftrain has experience arranging shipments through established carriers including UPS, FedEx, DHL and PostNL. Carrier selection is not automatic: destination coverage, parcel size, service level, timing and quotation conditions are reviewed for the specific shipment.

Where available and included in the chosen service, tracking information is shared after carrier acceptance. Final delivery performance remains subject to the carrier’s network, customs processing and recipient availability.

Information that improves logistics planning

  • Complete destination and recipient details
  • Product type, quantity, dimensions or expected carton count
  • Desired delivery window and any hard deadline
  • Special packaging or handling requirements stated before quotation
  • Whether several supplier orders need to be combined

Handling changes and exceptions

Delays, stock changes, damaged outer packaging or revised quantities can affect the plan. Delftrain communicates material issues identified during coordination and discusses the available next step. Any additional work or cost outside the confirmed scope is agreed before proceeding.

A well-prepared shipment begins with accurate order information. Early clarity reduces avoidable handling changes later in the process.
