Practical answers

Trade FAQ

The exact answer often depends on the product and route. These questions explain what clients can expect before requesting a quotation.

Multiple received cartons grouped together inside a storeroom
  • No fixed public minimumViable quantities depend on the product, supplier and transport route.
  • Quotation before commitmentCommercial conditions are confirmed for the individual order.
  • Timing is route-specificSupplier lead time and transport are assessed together.

What information should I send first?

Please include the product name or reference, specification, estimated quantity, origin or preferred source, destination and desired timing. For business orders, add the intended use or resale market and any packaging or documentation requirements already known.

Do you have a minimum order quantity?

There is no single public minimum for every category. The viable quantity depends on supplier pack sizes, product value, handling needs and transport economics. We assess this as part of the request.

Can Delftrain source a product that is not shown on the website?

Possibly. The website shows representative categories rather than a fixed catalogue. Send the exact product information and we will assess whether it fits our sourcing scope and the proposed trade route.

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing may include the product cost, sourcing or coordination work, incoming delivery, consolidation or handling, packaging, international transport and route-specific charges. The quotation explains the components relevant to the proposed order and any items not included.

How do payment stages work?

Orders commonly use an initial payment before purchasing and a final payment before shipment, but the structure is confirmed for the specific assignment. Do not send payment until Delftrain has provided the relevant quotation and instructions.

Which carriers can be used?

Delftrain has experience arranging shipments with UPS, FedEx, DHL and PostNL. The appropriate option depends on destination, parcel size, service availability, timing and price. Another route may be proposed where more suitable.

Will I receive tracking information?

Tracking is shared when it is available under the selected carrier service. Tracking events and delivery estimates are generated by the carrier and can be affected by customs processing or local delivery conditions.

How long does an order take?

There is no reliable universal lead time. Product availability, supplier processing, consolidation, documentation, carrier schedules and customs can all affect timing. An estimate is provided after the route and products have been reviewed.

Can several supplier orders be combined?

Yes, consolidation can be considered when it is practical for the products, timing and destination. We confirm the receiving and handling scope before the purchases are made.

What happens if a product becomes unavailable?

If a material stock or specification change is identified, we discuss suitable alternatives, a revised quantity, a different timeline or cancellation of the affected item according to the order conditions. We do not substitute a materially different product without approval.

Do you handle every product and destination?

No. Products or routes may be declined because of restrictions, transport risk, supplier conditions, insufficient information or a mismatch with Delftrain’s expertise. Specialist regulated goods are reviewed particularly carefully and may require support outside our service.

Can you guarantee customs clearance or delivery dates?

No business can control every external event in international trade. Delftrain coordinates the agreed order and prepares information within its scope, but customs authorities, carriers, suppliers and recipients influence the final timeline and outcome.
